This weekend we had a first in our house. Our first stomach bug. Jackson's first time vomiting.
And as with most of the unpleasant firsts, I ran to Facebook in a state of panic, wondering what to do. Desperately trying to figure out how to make him better.
But with a stomach bug there isn't much you can do hydrate, bland diet and the Zofran the pediatrician prescribed was a big help. Mostly because it made me feel like I could stop the vomiting.
And like always I worried that he wouldn't sleep or that he would be sick again or that he would get worse. And while Jack slept soundly through the night, I lay awake worried.
And I guess that's because while I've been at this mothering gig for over 2 years now that in many ways I'm still new to this. There will continue to be things that are new for us. There will still be firsts that will throw me for a loop or two.
I'm still very much a new mom and that's ok.
